User of the Year Interview

For those of you who don't know (how could you ), ZonePlace announced in May, its very first User of the Year!

The User of the Year is none other than human_eraser. As part of him winning this title, we have conducted an interview with human_eraser.

ZonePlace: What is your real name (either full name or just first name)?

human_eraser: People call me many things. Luke is one of them.


ZonePlace: Where are you from?

human_eraser: I am from the land that is glorious and free. Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. I am an Oompa Loompa. Actually, I am from Canada.

ZonePlace: What are your hobbies/interests?

human_eraser: I would have to say I follow sports a lot. Probably to the point where I don't know what I'd do with myself if sports were non-existent. Kinda sad I know, but that's just me. I also enjoy: running through sprinklers, good food (as opposed to bad), waking up every morning.

ZonePlace: How is it being User of the year?

human_eraser: It's great. I mean without question, I am the best. Honestly though, the recognition on the streets is incredible. So many autographs I've had to learn how to write with my left hand so I can sign two at once. The parade that was held in my honor was great. My float was shaped like a pencil as I sat on it while employing the energy conserving Queen of England wave to the masses that showed up to support me.

This site has come a long way since I joined and I'm glad that I've been able to make some impact that hopefully encourages other users to be active on here as well.

ZonePlace: How did you find and when did you join ZonePlace?

human_eraser: Well I was pestered by chrisTOPHER for the longest time to join the site because there was a lack of postings. I will never forget the moment I joined ZonePlace. I honestly mean this when I say this; I joined at 11:55 PM on September 30, 2009. You may think I'm kidding and that's ok, but it's the truth. I remember it like yesterday. Chris showed me the comments Tweadie Bird was making in the NHL thread and I felt like he was wrong and I wanted to share my point of view...and it just took off from there.

To the people who don't post much on this site or haven't registered yet, make your opinion heard, it's fun.

ZonePlace: What was your initial reaction to ZonePlace? What is it now?

human_eraser: Honestly, it just seemed like a site that only 3 people in the whole world knew about. I remember for the longest time, maybe my first 2 months here, at the bottom of the page it said, "Welcome to our newest member, human_eraser." I thought it was awfully nice to have that welcome up for that long until I realized it was there that long because no one else after me had registered. I think I was about the 230th member, somewhere around there.

Now, this site is growing and I'm glad to see it. The effort and commitment was there back when seeing 8 people online at once made us jump for joy and I'm glad to see that it is still there now. Not even a year has gone by and this site has improved so much.
